FAQ’s
240 Minutes of Margraff

Here are some FAQ’s for the event. Check back since we will update as more questions come in
When does the event start? 10 am, Aug 9th
How do I register for the event? registration opens June 1, 2026. Registration link will be here at that time. Due to parking limitations, we are limiting this event to a maximum of 100 registered racers.
Parking? We will have directions for parking posted here and suitable signs/parking marshals. Please follow all guidelines since we want to make this a yearly event.
What happens if the weather is bad? Our goal is to have a safe and fun event that doesn’t cause damage to the trails. One of the reasons we are using BikeReg for event registration is to take advantage of their Event Cancellation Insurance. This allows us to cancel the race if it is necessary due to weather and you are refunded the entry fee. Fingers crossed this doesn’t happen. The trails are well designed, drain, so fingers crossed for good weather!!
Are e-bikes allowed? No, for this race pedal bikes only, no electric bikes or electric assist bikes
Why have the event? The purpose of the event is to highlight an outdoor activity in Garrett County. We moved here in large part because of the opportunities to move outdoors. Part of living here is to recognize the opportunity to give back, which is why we are collaborating with local charity
What are the categories? solo male, solo female, 2 person team, 4 person team, solo male gravel bike, solo female gravel bike (gravel bike means 2.2 tires or smaller, no suspension and drop bars)
Who gets awards? There will be awards for the top two places in each category
Why don’t you have more categories? We are a first year event and our main focus is on putting on the event and making it a great activity for everybody and encourage riders to remember why they started riding…it’s fun!! At the same time the solo divisions and even a carefully curated two person team can go for it.
Why gravel bike divisions? Short answer- if you don’t know then this is not the category for you. Better answer- if you love being slightly underbiked, remember exploring on your road bike and learning why you can’t walk with road shoes on or are gearing up for cross season then try the gravel bike category.
Is there any schwag?? Yes – all participants will receive a custom 240 Minutes of Margraff hat! We also plan to have snack snacks, and fluids. (hopefully more than water) at the start finish line throughout the event..
Can I bring my dog? Dogs are welcome spectators. Since the event is in Savage River State Forest all dogs must be on leash under control. Unfortunately there is not a “dog division”:(
